Music City Youth Orchestra

Music City Youth Orchestra, now in its tenth season, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a dynamic atmosphere for student musicians in Middle Tennessee to explore a diverse repertoire for string orchestra.

Music City Youth Orchestra's Summer Intensive Workshop

July 17-20, 2017
10:00am - 2:00pm Monday - Wednesday
12:00pm - 5:30pm Thursday with 6:00pm performance


Join Music City Youth Orchestra for a fun and challenging week of intensive orchestral and chamber studies, practice, and performances. Bringing together local professional musicians and instructors, this workshop is structured for middle and high school level string students who play violin, viola, cello, and bass (includes graduating seniors). Also open to piano, guitar, and woodwind instruments. Activities include orchestra with Music City Youth Orchestra’s Music Director Travis Patton, chamber music with Melanie Joy Alvey of Music City Youth Orchestra, and masterclasses taught by electric violinist Tracy Silverman.
